Here’s an idea I had while trying to divine the location of face-down cards in a forty servants deck (but any deck will do). You can use simple optical illusions to allow your subconscious to directly guide your conscious mind.

Here’s a simple two-person reading my friend and I came up with that is similar to the collaborative writing exercises where each person writes one sentence and together it makes a story.

I suppose you could do this with any 2 decks, but a close friends and I happened to do this first using Tommie Kelly’s Forty Servants. This simple ritual will link 2 magicians through their decks.

Ever since I read that it helps to picture your servitor following you around, I thought about the usefulness of augmented reality. Ideally I would love an app that would show your surroundings in real-time via the phones camera, and overlay a static or animated image of your servitor. In the meantime however…
