The Trinary Approach
Transparency
Nothing about the process Trinary uses to is a secret; it's happily explained, so you don't have to wonder what's actually happening behind the scenes.
For images, ideally both pages would be the same size/shape. But since you guys are unpredictable, I do some resizing to match their heights, then I cut each one in half width and stick them together. It makes more sense if you just use similarly sized images.
For text I use a monospaced font so that I can keep everything lined up and just work with the text you provide by counting characters.
For randomness, Trinary uses the Mersenne Twister ↗︎ pseudorandom number generator. It's seeded using the current time, a high-resolution timer (and where applicable, your statement of intent) combined.
Authenticity
That's the best approximations I could provide for folding paper online.
Privacy

Methods & Options
Fold Type gives you the option to use images or text.
Image folds give you an optional line separating them.
Text folds gives you the option to set the width of the fold (half page), colors for text, line breaks, and Spacing.
// ○
Background & Practice
Fold-ins are done by folding two pages of text with the same line-spacing in half vertically, and combining them together to read across from one page to the next (Like in The Third Mind). It creates a new text with a new meaning from existing texts.
It was developed together by William S. Burroughs and Brion Gysin, and is closely related to the cut-up technique.
